Video call in messages
🎥 On Amateri.com, you can use the video call feature in messages to connect with another user in real time.
🛠️ How does the video call work?
Open a conversation with the user you want to call in messages and click the video call icon. This will send a call request. The other party can accept or decline the call.
📌 A video call can only be initiated with a user who is currently online.
🎙️ What is required for proper functionality?
To ensure the video call works properly, you need to allow access to your camera and microphone.
🔧 How to allow camera and microphone in your browser?
⚙️ If you have not yet set permissions for Amateri.com for camera and microphone access, your browser will automatically prompt you to allow or deny these permissions when starting a video call.
If you have accidentally denied access, you can enable it again:
- click the padlock icon in the address bar (next to the website URL),
- open Site settings / Permissions,
- find Camera and Microphone,
- set them to Allow,
- then refresh the page.
Alternatively, you can change permissions in your browser settings under Privacy and Security → Site permissions.
❌ Video call not working?
If the video call is not working properly, we recommend checking:
- whether you have allowed camera and microphone access,
- whether another application is currently using the camera or microphone,
- whether you are using the latest browser version,
- whether you have a stable internet connection.
📩 Issues still persist?
If the video call still does not work after checking the settings, please contact our support team and describe the issue as precisely as possible (e.g. device, browser, what exactly is not working, and any error message shown).
