How Verification Works

We want you to feel safe in the Amateri.com community. A new era brings new challenges, and although we cannot always be certain who is behind a given profile, we do our utmost to ensure that the identity of that person corresponds with the verification. You also help us by reporting fraudulent profiles and suspicious activities.

🔍 What is verification?

Verification is the process of determining the identity of a given user. 

✔ Partial verification is done using the camera. Once the verification starts, simply keep your face in the camera frame and follow the on-screen instructions.

A partially verified user will receive a partial verification icon.

🆔 Full verification is verification through BankID or personal identification documents.

In the case of verification through BankID, you log in to your bank's online banking as you normally would and then consent to BankID to verify that you are who you claim to be and that you are over 18 years old. The bank will not learn anything about your activities, and conversely, Amateri.com will not gain access to your account. The main aim of verification is to confirm that you are who you say you are and to verify your age, ensuring that you are an adult. The entire verification process is encrypted, and no one will have access to your data.

The second type of full verification is via a personal identification document. This can be an ID card, passport, driver's license, or residence permit. To correctly carry out and successfully confirm the verification, you need to 

  1. take a photo of the front side of the document, 

  2. take a photo of the back side of the document, and 

  3. take a selfie of yourself holding the document. 

Your data is encrypted and stored on a secure server accessible only to authorized individuals. We will not misuse your data in any way - we place great emphasis on user safety.

A fully verified user will receive a full verification icon.

⚖️ What is the legal reason for collecting and gathering personal identification documents?

The collection and gathering of personal identification documents are justified: firstly, we verify the adulthood of our users, secondly, we identify those who harm in some way, and last but not least, we protect those who behave decently and follow the rules. It holds true that a verified user has more options and features than an unverified user - for instance, a verified user can convert earned credits into money.

According to the relevant laws in the Czech Republic, these are specifically 

  • Act No. 253/2008 Coll., on certain measures against the legalization of proceeds from criminal activity and the financing of terrorism, which applies to users who circumvent the credit system and request other users to pay directly to their account,
  • Act No. 359/1999 Coll., on social and legal protection of children, which requires, among other things, that children be protected from the influence of adult community networks, and
  • Act No. 121/2000 Coll., the Copyright Act, which protects the intellectual property of artists and creators, and in the context of Amateri.com is very relevant.

I still don't understand why I should give you my ID

There are a total of 4 main categories of reasons for which we require the submission of personal identification documents. Some of these have already been mentioned above.

  1. Age verification: We are obliged to prevent children and minors from accessing explicit content on Amateri.com. By verifying your identity, you help us in this effort.

  2. Safety and credibility: To ensure safety in the Amateri.com community, we sometimes require a user to undergo verification for their continued activity. This may occur in situations where we detect suspicious or harmful activity on the account. Verification also increases the credibility of the profiles in question.

  3. Fraud protection: By identifying chronic fraudsters, we protect honest and well-meaning users.

  4. Compliance with regulatory requirements: Just like banks or casinos, we are also subject to regulations aimed at preventing money laundering and other illegal activities.

How long does identity verification take?

We strive to have your identity verified within 24 hours after submitting your document, however, this may not always be achievable, especially if any doubts arise regarding the document. In any case, you should receive notification of the approval or disapproval of your identity within 72 hours.

With BankID, the verification occurs immediately.

❗ You did not approve my identity, what now?

First, it is necessary to find out specifically why your identity was not approved. You can find this out in the notification on your profile. 

The most common reasons include:

  • The document is not fully visible.
  • The document is not readable, information on the document is blurry.
  • The document held in hand is not visible along with the face (selfie).
  • The document is not valid.
  • It is not a document (but for example, a library card).
