A story about a burning jungle and a hummingbird: the rainforest was on fire, it was a massive blaze. The animals that managed to escape stood nearby and watched the destruction. Elephants, tigers, tapirs, birds. Only a tiny hummingbird kept flying to a nearby lake and scooping up a drop of water in its beak to release it into the flames of the burning jungle. It did so continuously. The animals called out to it: "What are you doing? It's pointless. Your drops will evaporate before they even reach the fire." The hummingbird replied: "I know. But at least I'm doing what I can."
Each of us has our own unique ability to contribute to some positive change. Whether within ourselves, in our family, community, workplace, or in the nature around us. And let us be an inspiration like that tiny little hummingbird.

Příběh o hořící džungli a kolibříkovi: prales hořel, byl to obrovský požár. Zvířata, kterým se podařilo utéct, stála opodál a dívala se na tu zkázu. Sloni, tygři, tapíři, ptactvo. Jen maličký kolibřík neustále létal k nedalekému jezeru a nabral do zobáčku kapku vody,aby ji vypustil do plamenů hořící džungle. Činil tak neustále. Zvířata na něj volala: “co to děláš? Vždyť je to zbytečné. Ty tvoje kapky se vypaří dřív než do ohně dopadnou.” Kolibřík odpověděl: “Vím. Ale alespoň dělám to co je v mých možnostech.”
Každý z nás máme své unikátní možnosti jak k nějaké pozitivní změně přispět. Ať už sami v sobě, v rodině, komunitě, zaměstnání nebo v přírodě kolem nás. A buďme inspirací jako onen malinký kolibřík.
