@pm86 I see your argument. It's valid as you put it.
But I'm a fan of Occam's razor and still can't accept the reasoning of complicating the first contact.
Especially when the end game is pretty much specific.
Regarding the "low effort" thing; I believe I responded to @ravine 10 days ago.
No matter, as umberto eco would have said, I'm not responsible on how the other end interprets my "hello".

I see where you're getting at; This place is highly competitive, hence the most eloquent wins.
Like in prehistoric times where the hunter who brought the most meat had the more women.
And your argument for this, is that you folks reading about complaints about men having a hard time finding women.
Apologies, I don't really agree with your argument.
If this is indeed the truth, I mean if there are really many complaints, then one could assign them to lots of things besides the appropriate language of reaching out to another person.
And to be honest I don't care to mention those things; What I care about, is to state explicitly that often people miss their goals for no reason whatsoever.
The goal or the end game if you prefer, is to fulfill one's sexual desire.
Hence, unless we are talking about sapiosexuals, the difference between "hi" and forest phytopathology should be minimal.
The goal is to approach the other person and not flex your phd knowledge; And by Occam's razor, a "hello" can do that.
By the way, hello. How are you?
